Part of the marketing for a cryptocurrency is the metaphor they use to describe themselves. For District0X, they use the metaphor of districts in a city to reference different marketplace communities. These different marketplaces can easily be created and deployed by DNT developers. Holding a certain amount of DNT is the only permission needed, so there are many smaller districts that host their own, custom Dapps. From Defi markets, NFT exchanges, and ENS name marketplaces, DNT lets devs build their own marketplaces for Ethereum products and beyond. The closest analogy might be something like a crypto craigslist, but since its Web3 it ends up selling metaverse real estate, 8bit animal avatars, and internet money.
